FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need a physician’s prescription to begin therapy?

No. In New Jersey, patients can often begin therapy without first obtaining a physician’s prescription through Direct Access, allowing you to start treatment sooner. Depending on your insurance plan or medical condition, additional documentation may be required during the course of your care. Our team will verify your benefits, explain your coverage, and guide you through the process from start to finish.

  • What insurance plans do you accept?

Kinetic Home Therapy Services is a Medicare Part B provider and accepts most major PPO insurance plans. Before beginning care, we verify your benefits and explain any deductibles, copays, or coinsurance so there are no surprises.

  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact our office as soon as possible. We understand that unexpected situations arise and will work with you to arrange another convenient appointment.

  • How long will I need therapy? What happens after discharge?

Every patient is different. Your therapist will continually assess your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed. Therapy continues until your goals have been met or you have reached your highest level of functional independence.

When therapy is complete, your therapist will provide a personalized Home Exercise Program (HEP) along with recommendations to help you maintain your progress and continue living as independently as possible.

  • I’m a physician or facility. How do I refer a patient?

We welcome referrals from physicians, hospitals, case managers, assisted living communities, and other healthcare providers. Visit our Referrals page or contact our office at 973-320-7317 for referral forms and fax information.

  • I don’t have insurance, how else can I be seen for therapy at home?

Yes. We offer private pay therapy for patients who do not have qualifying insurance coverage or prefer to receive services outside of their insurance plan. Visit our Private Pay page for pricing and additional information.

  • What should I expect during my first visit?

Your therapist will review your medical history, perform an evaluation, discuss your goals, and develop a personalized treatment plan. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn what to expect throughout your course of care.

  • Can family members participate in therapy sessions?

Absolutely. We encourage family members and caregivers to be involved whenever appropriate. Education and communication are an important part of helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
